The memory of Lemonade

I live in India, and I grew up in the north of India (Delhi) with formidable weather conditions….too Hot in the Summers and Bone Chilling Cold during Winters. Today, during my alloted hour(s) of day dreaming….my mind while cruising through the many alleys which exist in the recesses of my memory….stumbled on to this memory of a Lemonade…well The Lemonade.

On hot afternoons (well all afternoons are HOT in Delhi summers), when I got back from school…my mum would have this pitcher of Lemonade ready………..the Stainless Steel Pitcher…………filled with the cold, slightly sweet, tangy lemonade………….she will fill my favorite tall glass with it………….as I would take the first sip……I would actually feel the cool drink traversing through my throat down to my belly and oh! what sheer Bliss. I would immerse myself totally in that heavenly taste…savoring each sip………..

It is amazing how a memory, when relived in entirety can fill you up with the same feelings so completely…………till date and even more so during summers I am reminded of my mum’s lemonade and the familiar urge to have that first sip………….!!!

Somehow when I make it, it’s never the same…..I guess that’s what Mum’s Touch and Love is all about…there is no alternative 🙂
