Perceptions

Perceptions are like clothes…either they make you feel good or uncomfortable……choosing the right ones is what creates that difference. Do we choose because others do or do we choose because we believe in our choice. We can either say My Perceptions choose and define me OR I choose my Perceptions and I define them…..What do you say and are you comfortable with your’s?? ~ Celestine Rhythm

There are two ways in which our perceptions take birth. One is – in life we very often get carried away by what people who are close to us believe in and often adopt them as our own perceptions OR the other way is when we create our own perceptions by learning to examine the cause and effects in our lives…… now this largely depends on our experiences.

Some examples of Perceptions: “If a person has a certain body type only then they can be agile or not” , “If you want to win, you have to be aggressive”, “Unless you prove your supremacy, people will take you for granted” or on the other end ” You should keep quiet if you someone is screaming at you else you will further aggravate them”, ” The best way to show your love is by accepting what the other person wants from you at all times” and the third kind, ” If you want people to respect you, you need to respect them”, ” The solution to all problems in life is Love”, “Everyone acts according to the best of their abilities at a given point in time”.

Oh! there are a gazillion perceptions whether adopted or created which become beliefs in our life and then we live by them. Like everything else, our Perceptions can add value to our lives as well as deplete value from our lives. What we need to understand is Perceptions create beliefs and beliefs create our realities and the sooner we begin to questions our beliefs, the sooner we will be able to create our own realities in which we can thrive. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that even if our Perceptions are adopted, we have seen it work in some way or the other for it to have become part of our mind. Then what we really need to determine is whether the Perception that we have allowed our mind to believe, is it limiting us in any way?? If you tend to feel uncomfortable, unfulfilled, scared and most of all if you hear that teeny tiny voice telling you “Something’s not right” (this last one will most certainly make you feel disconnected with yourself)………………then it’s time to start examining your Perception which obviously is the seed that sprouts the Beliefs which gives birth to the Reality…………now the obvious question is how???

Well I started by increasing my awareness…..so right after I would do something which triggered any of those feelings, I would ask myself….allright what was I thinking right before taking that step….was it my thought or did I adopt it…either way what had happened to allow this thought in my mind. I got all kinds of answers….some were on the lines of ” Well, my parents, friends or a close person always believed it and it worked for them so I believe it too” and some other were on the lines of ” Actually, it is easier for me to believe this and this helps me makes sense of why this happens or doesn’t happen to me” while the first one did not make me feel great, it is the second type that took me a while to reconcile with….. as it meant that I was either scared to face the Truth or that the Truth made me responsible of an action that I did not want to be responsible for.

I am not saying that this is an immediate fix but it is that proverbial “First Step” only this is the real deal…………..the literal First Step.

We will often not even know why we do certain things…only that we do them……with employing this practice of questioning our thoughts which always precedes these actions, we begin to examine that elusive “WHY” and once we find that out….it’s simply accepting it or discarding it. Like any habit, our thinking patterns will also take time to change but with the right focus and training we can change those Perceptions which limit us and replace them with the ones that makes us feel whole, happy and most of all connected to ourself. This will help you claim your True Power, Your Inner Power which helps you to  create your realities.

So if you have been reading this and some images have been flashing through your mind, I urge you to start with this practice …………..the best part is you can keep the ones that work for you anyway……………only discard those which do not fulfill you. You are the best judge of that as this is your life and your journey.

Energy Flows where Attention Goes

Just like a pond which is filled with Lotus Blooms, our heart is filled with blooms like Love, Happiness, Abundance, Humor, Trust and so many more. Needless to say we do have weeds too but then we cannot have a garden and not have weeds. The point is do we spend time fretting about the weeds or enjoy the quaint beauty of the Lotus flowers? In that answer lies magic…yes magic which creates what we want in life……remember “Energy flows where Attention goes” so as long as we have our sights set on the Lotus, we’ll always have a pond full of them. This is how the Law Of Attraction works, if we are filled with gratitude for the beauty in our lives, then our lives will be filled with more and more of beauty to have gratitude for. Likewise, if we focus on all things which are not going right in our lives and worry about them then we will attract more of situations which will create more worries for us. 

Our Mind is a sacred place and needs to be treated with respect. You have all the rights to reserve admission to thoughts that make you happy. It is absolutely amazing to actually realize our power to manifest…power to create and thoughts are our tool to do that.
