Perceptions

Perceptions are like clothes…either they make you feel good or uncomfortable……choosing the right ones is what creates that difference. Do we choose because others do or do we choose because we believe in our choice. We can either say My Perceptions choose and define me OR I choose my Perceptions and I define them…..What do you say and are you comfortable with your’s?? ~ Celestine Rhythm

There are two ways in which our perceptions take birth. One is – in life we very often get carried away by what people who are close to us believe in and often adopt them as our own perceptions OR the other way is when we create our own perceptions by learning to examine the cause and effects in our lives…… now this largely depends on our experiences.

Some examples of Perceptions: “If a person has a certain body type only then they can be agile or not” , “If you want to win, you have to be aggressive”, “Unless you prove your supremacy, people will take you for granted” or on the other end ” You should keep quiet if you someone is screaming at you else you will further aggravate them”, ” The best way to show your love is by accepting what the other person wants from you at all times” and the third kind, ” If you want people to respect you, you need to respect them”, ” The solution to all problems in life is Love”, “Everyone acts according to the best of their abilities at a given point in time”.

Oh! there are a gazillion perceptions whether adopted or created which become beliefs in our life and then we live by them. Like everything else, our Perceptions can add value to our lives as well as deplete value from our lives. What we need to understand is Perceptions create beliefs and beliefs create our realities and the sooner we begin to questions our beliefs, the sooner we will be able to create our own realities in which we can thrive. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that even if our Perceptions are adopted, we have seen it work in some way or the other for it to have become part of our mind. Then what we really need to determine is whether the Perception that we have allowed our mind to believe, is it limiting us in any way?? If you tend to feel uncomfortable, unfulfilled, scared and most of all if you hear that teeny tiny voice telling you “Something’s not right” (this last one will most certainly make you feel disconnected with yourself)………………then it’s time to start examining your Perception which obviously is the seed that sprouts the Beliefs which gives birth to the Reality…………now the obvious question is how???

Well I started by increasing my awareness…..so right after I would do something which triggered any of those feelings, I would ask myself….allright what was I thinking right before taking that step….was it my thought or did I adopt it…either way what had happened to allow this thought in my mind. I got all kinds of answers….some were on the lines of ” Well, my parents, friends or a close person always believed it and it worked for them so I believe it too” and some other were on the lines of ” Actually, it is easier for me to believe this and this helps me makes sense of why this happens or doesn’t happen to me” while the first one did not make me feel great, it is the second type that took me a while to reconcile with….. as it meant that I was either scared to face the Truth or that the Truth made me responsible of an action that I did not want to be responsible for.

I am not saying that this is an immediate fix but it is that proverbial “First Step” only this is the real deal…………..the literal First Step.

We will often not even know why we do certain things…only that we do them……with employing this practice of questioning our thoughts which always precedes these actions, we begin to examine that elusive “WHY” and once we find that out….it’s simply accepting it or discarding it. Like any habit, our thinking patterns will also take time to change but with the right focus and training we can change those Perceptions which limit us and replace them with the ones that makes us feel whole, happy and most of all connected to ourself. This will help you claim your True Power, Your Inner Power which helps you to  create your realities.

So if you have been reading this and some images have been flashing through your mind, I urge you to start with this practice …………..the best part is you can keep the ones that work for you anyway……………only discard those which do not fulfill you. You are the best judge of that as this is your life and your journey.

Being Spiritual

The question is “What is Spirituality?”…there are myriad answers, depending on who do you speak with. The one that seems quite prevalent is the one which claims that being spiritual means moving away from the materialistic world, giving up your pleasures and leisure and leading a somewhat spartan life. I with all due respect to all who hold this point of view have a different take. Spirituality is a search………search of self….exploration to understand the depth of our consciousness; it is about understanding the Divine flow of energy. It is about finding balance…..and that balance only means accepting ourselves and every aspect of ourselves. It is about being truly whole………and understanding that there is power which pulsates within our beings, which moves us and creates constantly for us…through us.

Being Spiritual is diametrically opposite to renouncing the materialistic world…it actually means finding balance while you enjoy this world and all that you do. If your life’s purpose requires you to be a soldier and protect your country, you will hardly find peace by renouncing that and sitting idle in a mountain resort. It is imperative to understand that everything that we are and that we do is woven intricately with the fabric of Spirituality as Spirit is energy and we are beings of energy….. energy flows through us…around us. The flow of energy does not stop to convince us or does not require our belief in it…..it just “Is”. Our True Self is in complete harmony with this flow. This “True Self” is a part of the cosmos hence is completely balanced and is peaceful………..it flows like Water without distinguishing easy or rocky terrain….it shines like Sun both on what we know is good and what we term as bad……it does not judge or choose….it is LOVE in its purest form. We are all part of this Divine Universe…..This Divine Universe is part of the Divine Multiverse…………if you are essentially a part of the Divine how can you not be Divine.

Being spiritual means to simply embark on this inner journey of finding this “True Self”. While on this journey, we do not need to give up our worldly lives for we are meant to live in this world and it is created as the platform for us to learn and grow from. It only means to listen to that tiny little voice whispering inside us, urging us to look beyond what our trained senses tell us…………to look beyond all man created imperfections and rejoice instead in the beauty which exists in all.

Once we discover this “True Self” it is like in the vast ocean and finding the bottom of the ocean where there is a magnificent world of its own. This space then becomes the proverbial “suspended” reality where we can then relinquish all fears which plague us. We are whole, less needy to seek approvals or acceptance from others, less judgemental of others life’s and choices, more loving and accepting of not only others’ but ourselves, we are more forgiving and doing so and being so releases us. When we find this space, there are limitless possibilities to create and enjoy and rejoice……….for this is where “Real Magic” is found. Even a glimpse of this “True Self” is enough to propel us on this Journey of “Being Spiritual”………..and then whatever we do and wherever we are and whoever we are with is infused with love and balance; we are more productive as we move from the space of limitations to that of possibilities. Once we start on the road to find our “Self”, we will notice how our physical bodies become healthier, how stress and anger dissipates from our lives and how peace radiates from our beings. This is because all dis-eases are a result of unresolved emotions and unassimilated lessons of our lives which manifest in the physical bodies…………once we become aware of the innate connection between body, mind and soul…we are automatically respectful of all three and therefore more attentive of what they tell us.

Now, I have been asked, does finding our “True Self”, means we will never again get angry or scared or judgemental or harbor ill intentions for others…………Well the answer is ……….certainly not for we are in this world and here those aspects are a constant and will be till our collective consciousness moves to the next level and no longer needs this reality to learn from…however it means that when we do get caught up in this wave of low energetic thoughts, we are aware of our thoughts and what actions they inspire and therefore we are able to release these thoughts with less resistance…………it means that earlier a fight or event which bothered us for days will now bother for may be just a day or less……it means that we forgive more easily and release ourselves from the bondage of anger and resentment. It means our physical bodies will be healthy, our emotional and mental bodies will be more balanced and our spiritual bodies will be constantly exploring our Divine Power and Higher Consciousness………….

Just one last thing, when you embark of this journey……..you will always be supported and guided……….so if there is a restlessness inside you….do not suppress it as an acid reflux…..instead try to ask yourself…”is that my Inner Self stirring inside”?

Bon Voyage fellow explorers 🙂
